Customer enquiries

We use your name, email, phone, project postcode, brief and photographs to respond to your request, assess the work and manage your project. We keep your conversation private to you and authorised team members. Email access links expire after 24 hours; a conversation session lasts up to seven days.

Painter information

We use your profile, address, contact details, experience, skills and availability to assess suitability, offer work and manage bookings. Your home postcode is converted into an approximate location to help the operations team match nearby jobs. We do not track your live location. Timesheets and payment records support work administration; the platform does not make payments or calculate tax.

Identity documents

You may upload ID or show an original to your project manager before starting work. Uploads are scanned and encrypted. Only authorised administrators can access them, and access and review decisions are logged. Documents are deleted 30 days after a review, or 90 days after upload if still unresolved. We retain the outcome, reviewer and review date while needed to manage your work relationship. Identity checking is separate from qualifications and right-to-work checks.

Why we use information

We process information needed to respond to steps you request before a contract, to perform agreed services, and for legitimate interests such as organising work, keeping accounts secure and resolving questions. Optional job-alert SMS messages follow the preference you choose. You can change job-alert preferences in your profile. Essential account verification and password messages still need to be sent.

Services used and access

The platform is hosted on our UK server. IONOS handles email and Twilio handles text messages. Postcodes.io receives postcodes to locate jobs and painters approximately. The admin map uses OpenStreetMap tiles. These services receive the information necessary to provide their functions and may use infrastructure in other countries subject to their applicable data protection terms. Generated public photographs are illustrations and are not customer project records.

Retention and deletion

We keep enquiries, work records and conversations only while needed for the relationship, follow-up, accounting or dispute resolution, and review retention when a relationship ends. You can ask us to delete information that is no longer needed. Encrypted backups rotate after 30 days, so a deleted file may remain in a restricted backup until that backup expires. Verification results may remain after the underlying ID file is deleted.

Your choices and rights

You may request access, correction, deletion or restriction of your information, object to certain processing, and withdraw optional notification consent. Some records may need to be retained for a valid legal or operational reason. Contact the email above; you can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies and security

We use essential cookies for secure sign-in and private conversations. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies at launch. Keep private conversation links and passwords confidential. Upload only information you are authorised to share, and avoid unnecessary sensitive material in job messages.
