01

List every surface you want included

Walls and ceilings are only part of the job. Mention doors, frames, skirting, stairs and radiators, and make clear which tiled surfaces or fitted units are excluded.

02

Show the existing condition

Point out peeling paint, damaged plaster, staining and wallpaper that needs removal. Repairs and preparation can change the work involved, even when the room size stays the same.

03

Test colour in your own light

Look at sample boards around the room, in daylight and under evening lighting. A screen does not show exactly how a paint colour will look in the property.

04

Check the coating suits the surface

Walls, doors, metal radiators and exterior surfaces may need different preparation and paint systems. Check the product guidance, existing finish and room conditions before buying.

05

Compare scope, work price and materials

Our work price excludes paint and materials, which you pay separately. Review the preparation, finishes, access and exclusions alongside the total and rough materials guide.

06

Plan access and the start date

Tell the quoter about furniture, keys, parking and rooms you need to keep using. Confirm the start date and contractor arrangements with the office before planning around the work.
